Hump day dinner at DSTRKT.

I met two of my lovely friends Anushka and Mohini when we all worked together at ITV. They are two of my absolute favourite ex-work wives and we still try to meet up for dinner or drinks as much as possible.

DSTRKT opened in Soho in 2011 and has since made its name as one of the most well known clubs in London. I’ve been for drinks a few time, but this was my first visit to their Pan Asian restaurant, Yoshiaki. We absolutely love sushi and Asian food so decided to head there this Wednesday and take advantage of the deal they are currently offering – £35 for 4 courses. You can find this by booking on Bookatable. (BTW there are so many great deals for amazing restaurants on there, definitely check it out!)

The restaurant itself is lovely and really classy, it’s split over several levels with a huge light feature in the middle which changes colour throughout the night. We loved it straightaway and the food didn’t disappoint either.

The menu includes a starter, middle course, main course and dessert and we couldn’t wait to get started! Our welcome drink was the choice of prosecco or a Bellini and we went for Bellinis all round.

Yoshiaki specialises in sushi, and two of us went for the Salmon and Avocado Roll for starter. It was amazing and reminded me of why sushi is one of my favourite ever foods (alongside eggs, obviously) The other starter we tried was the Mock Duck Salad which was great too.

The middle course has only one option, which is Salmon Tataki (so if you don’t like raw fish this might not be for you!) This was served to us on spoons and was delicious – a lovely taster between the courses.

The set menu has a choice of 6 main courses ranging from grilled fish, steak to noodle dishes. I opted for the Thai Green Chicken Curry, which was just spicy enough! I really enjoyed it, and the other meals we chose were the Pork Belly and the Vegetable Rice Noodles. There are several sides available to add on for around £5, including rice, chips or salad, just in case you’re extra hungry! We were really impressed with all of our choices, and there’s definitely something for all tastes on the menu.

The best part of the meal by far was dessert! There’s three options on the menu – Matcha & Passionfruit Cheesecake, Chocolate Ganache and Honeycomb Creme Brûlée. We ordered one each and they were were all incredible! Our favourite was the Creme Brûlée which was luckily the one I ordered. It’s definitely worth trying all of them if you go as a group – so delicious and a real highlight.

There’s a huge list of wines and we had a bottle of white too (because, Wine Wednesday) We loved the vibe in the restaurant and it was the perfect place to have a girly catch up. On a Wednesday it was pretty quiet so the two-hour time limit on the table wasn’t stuck to, which was fab.

Hugely recommend popping into DSTRKT (particularly this deal which was great value) for lovely food and a classy atmosphere – don’t forget to get the Creme Brûlée!
